This C1-A
"Trader" is the first new customer at our new expanded facility.
A 1960's-era aircraft, this plane went thru the Navy's extensive IRAN
Maintenance Schedule in 1988,
but has been sitting idle since 2000. It comes to us for a
comprehensive annual along with several engine and avionics upgrades (e.g. oil
scavenge pumps and a pre-oilier system). The owner of this aircraft also owns
a T-28 which we maintain. Keep your eyes open for this Trader, she should be
on the air show circuit this spring.

The work on the Trader is progressing slowly, with the replacement of
over 90 out-of-date oil, fuel, and hydraulic hoses, the fabricating of
scavenge and pre-oil pump brackets, and the installation of their
appropriate electronic systems.

03/16/09 The Phase Inspection and
mechanical upgrades to the Trader have been completed. Systems testing have
been successful, and the run-up of the aircraft will be attempted this week.
05/10/09 "All systems go". The run-up was successful, and the
aircraft was returned to its anxious owner. It has left for home (Georgia)
and a full schedule of 2009 air show appearances.
09/10/09
The owners’ flight training was completed earlier this summer, and the C1A (as
well as the owner's T-28) entertained thousands of spectators on the air-show
circuit.
